How to parent and raise a happy autistic child in a very neurotypical world
Written by two neurodivergent mums who truly understand the journey, Parenting Rewired is the compassionate, practical guide every parent of an autistic child needs.

This book invites you to shift away from traditional parenting advice and instead learn how to understand and support your child through an autistic lens. With lived experience, clear explanations, and hands-on strategies, it teaches you a new “language” of parenting—one rooted in connection, not correction.

Why it’s different
All content is reviewed by medical professionals—including two psychiatrists and a paediatrician—some of whom are neurodivergent themselves. That means everything inside is both medically sound and grounded in real-life experience.

The Holy Grail Of Autism Books
I am a disability nurse specialising in working with autistic children... The experiences of these two mothers are well written, and despite their sons' needs appearing extreme, there is no sense of self-pity - if anything, the book oozes their pride and joy in parenting their sons. I will be recommending this to every family I work with - this is the Holy Grail of Autism Books.

A Diamond Of A Book
This is one of a long line of books on autism I have read but it shines out above the rest. It is written with a clarity and knowledge that made me want to keep reading. I normally take ages to finish a book. I did this one cover-to-cover in 4 days. The book has a mixture of fact, biography and suggestions that work well. I hope there are more books in the series that maybe go into greater detail on certain areas. This was perfect for starters and I loved the fact the authors have autism and ADHD. It blew books by other parents of autistic children out the water in my opinion. If you thought the likes of Temple Grandin could tell you about autism - you are in for a treat because Punter and Chaney have taken it to a new level.

This is an accessible read, with plenty of relatable experiences being shared. So if your child is waiting to be assessed or has just been diagnosed and you feel you just don't know where to turn or what to do, do yourself a favour, grab this book, a brew and start reading. You won't regret it.

I Feel Like I Have Been Living With My Eyes Closed!
I love every aspect of this book. It has answered so many questions and made things so much clearer and now I feel so confident moving forward in my parenting. I absolutely love the recap at the end of each chapter.

In An Ideal World This Book Would Be Handed Out By Every NHS Trust
I am a consultant paediatrician in the NHS, and always looking for ways to help patients and their families... This book has been the book that [has been] missing for too long. A book written by two autistic parents offering guidance based on their first-hand experiences of being autistic children and parenting their own autistic children. The science is accurate and clearly explained with the authors being clear to reiterate that they are not medics and never overstep the mark of offering medical advice. In an ideal world this book would be handed out by every NHS trust in the UK to all families with an autistic child.

Brilliant Book Inclusive Of All Family Types
I have followed Autability for a while and done one of their courses. I waited for this book to come out and it is brilliant. I think I need to give it to my parents, extended family and friends for Christmas. Most books mention roles of husbands, partners, wives etc. This doesn't which for our family (2 mums) means the world - we don't have to gulp when there are mother and father roles depicted which are not relevant to us. This might not be relevant to how you raise an autistic child but it makes our family feel included. I don't know if this was deliberate but thank you!
